=> Do you ever wish you had gone to university?

2. I should really be leaving now. TIME

=> It's time I left now.

3. I'd rather watch TV than go out in such cold weather. PREFER

=> I prefer watching TV to going out in such cold weather.

4. Why do you have to complain all the time? WISH

=> I wish you didn't complain all the time.

5. It's a pity you can’t join our trip. WISH

=> I wish you could join our trip.

6. Jack doesn't know all the answers, though he pretends to. ACTS

=> Jack acts as if he knew all the answers.

7. I wish I hadn't sold that old painting. PITY

=> It's a pity I sold that old painting.

8. It would be better if you didn't apply for that job. RATHER

=> I'd rather you hadn't applied for that job.

9. If only I had stayed home last night. REGRET

=> I regret not staying home last night.

10. She regrets getting married so early. WISHES

=> She wishes she hadn't gotten married so early.

Ex2: Put each verb in brackets into an appropriate verb form.

Rewrite each of the following sentences, using the word in the capital:

1) If you do have any free time, could you give me a ring? SHOULD
→ Should you not have any free time, could you give me a ring?
2) We won’t go away if the weather is bad. UNLESS
→ Unless the weather is bad, we will go away.
3) I didn’t have the money, so I didn’t buy a new suit. WOULD

4) If you hurry up, you won’t be late. GOING
→ If don't hurry up, you are going to be late.

→  Were they to offer the job, would you accept?
